Glitter Spot Velvet Dress - ebay
I have been completely in love with the proper Topshop version of this glitter spot velvet dress since I saw it on a couple of people at the TOWIB event at the beginning of the year! However, on my ridiculously tight budget these days, £50 just cannot be justified however hard I try. So after trawling through ebay I came across this copy for a rather bargainous £13.99!
When it arrived I was kind of sad at how short it is, obviously this dressmaker models on dwarves, but I think I manage to get away with it when I wear it with leggings. I wore this as my Christmas Day dress and felt super sparkly and festive in it. I love it because its basically a little girls dress in big size! It's a bit less sparkly than the Toppers original, and the velvet is probably less luxe, AND it does leave me covered in a few pesky flecks of glitter but oh well, I saved £36 suckerssssss!
I really wanted to get the Topshop version of this dress! I'll be snapping up the eBay version now and saving myself some money, thank you! Love the blog xoxo
ReplyDeleteThis looks lovely & what a bargain - don't worry about the length, the Topshop one is just as bad - I found out to my dismay!x
ReplyDeleteI have the Topshop one haha, obviously I'm a lot less careful with money than you are ;) It looks so pretty on you! And its only too short if you bend over...or stretch. so just do neither of those things ever.

Ah! I don't have the Topshop one, but have been thinking about getting it. You just saved me £36! Cheers! £36 more to spend on our next shopping day!

ReplyDeleteThat dress is gorgeous, what a bargain as well. I really love your hair too xx
ReplyDeleteSo much like the Topshop version and so much cheaper! It was love at first sight with me and the Topshop one, surely I can justify the £13.99 after loving the original for so long?! I saw someone wearing this with a black bodycon mini underneath on new years to combat the shortness problem and it actually looked just as lovely if a little 80's (which is fine by me)

Forever dressing like a five year old going to a tea party - winning! I love this dress too, but the topshop one is ridiculously overpriced, go you!

this dress is so gorgeous on you! Beautiful and flattering and you look amazeballs. I agree that fifty pounds is way too much though :) xxx
ReplyDeleteEveryone LOVES this dress (as do I!) but it does appear to always be SO short! Why is this??!! And I'm not a tall person. yet my ass is on show!
ReplyDeleteHowever, shortness aside, you look a doll Lucy! xx

What a bargain! I love velvet itself, but I hate the feel of it, so it's a love hate relationship which means I can never make myself buy anything velvet :(
ReplyDeleteHOWEVER, this is such a gorgeous dress, made even better by the bargain!
