Product Review - Vaseline Creme Brulee Limited Edition

I popped into central today on an eager and slightly desperate hunt to find something to wear for the London Christmas Bloggers Meet Up tomorrow, and the Handpicked Media Social on Monday. It wasnt a hugely successful trip, I didnt really fall in love with anything, and the skirt that I'd planned to buy had been put on the 'last chance to buy' rail, which we all know is the most hellish place on Earth filled with sizes only weirdos fit into.

The one purchase that I was excited by (saddo) on my way home was the new limited edition Vaseline, in a Creme Brulee flavour. I'd tried to persuade Sean to take me to Selfridges when it first came out so that I could get my hands on it, but funnily enough he wasnt particularly interested in the launch, boys hey! So when I spotted it in Superdrug today I grabbed it straight away and forked over £2.99 for it. Quite frankly I think the price is bloody daylight robbery!

Sadly I'm kind of disappointed by it. I was expecting a beautiful sweet smell with the same strength as the Cocoa Butter variety of Vaseline, but this isnt really up to the same mark. There is a very slight difference in smell from the original Vaseline, but nothing significant enough to warrant a new variety in my opinion, let alone one that claims to be limited edition. The packaging is quite cute with the graphic of the cracked sugar across the lid.
Quality wise, it's no different from any other of the Vaseline products. It's handy for when you get that horrible niggling feeling of sticky or dry lips. Great for chapped or dry lips, a staple of the beauty world, an old classic that you cant really go wrong with having in your make up bag.

My favourite lip balm/jelly/moisturiser is the Dermalogica Lip Complex which was in last months Glossybox. I put it on every night before I go to sleep without fail. I'm probably going to run out in the next couple of days, waaaah!

What do you think of the new Vaseline?

And if you're going to either London Xmas Bloggers Meet tomorrow or Handpicked Media Social on Monday, please tweet me @lucyjanewood so i can put names to faces this time! I'm rubbish at it xxxx

  2. Bloody hell, I remember when those things were around a quid! Although there is something really irresistible about that perticular flavour - and I don't even like brulee! I find the palmers cocoa butter one is top notch also!

  6. I saw the creme Brulee vaseline in Boots yesterday and was tempted by it, but I'm glad I didn't get it now as it doesn't seem to be as good as it looks!
