The recent MAC Wonder Woman collection didnt really push my buttons all that much. I have to be honest, I'm a bit of a sucker for packaging, as I love all my little bits and bobs to look cute on my shelves and my dresser and so when I first saw the WW collection a while back I was kinda disappointed as I thought it was quite loud, brash and dare I say it, slightly tacky. Obviously that's what they were going for with the whole comic book style, but it just really wasnt me. The shades themselves didnt appeal to me all that much either, with the only product to me worth pondering over being the Mineralize Skin Finishes, and possibly the eyeshadow palette 'Valiant', which to be fair, was a gorgeous group of colours which I did slightly lust after.
So when I saw the next collection, Quite Cute, ready for launch in the spring, I got super excited. The sickeningly sweet range is described as
"...the girliest kind of international glam possible, a style ride that combines postage-stamp-sized puppies with pixie swizzle-stick fashion and butterfly kisses for cute boys and even cuter shoes! Cupcake icing colors, vintage romance, an ATM card with Hello Kitty on it – and a way of life that says “yes!” to everything adorable!"
I surprised myself in how much I like the look of this collection, as I'm not really a big girly-girl usually, but for some reason I just cant imagine I'll be able to resist picking up some of these bits.
The one certain thing I DEFINITELY want to get my paws on is the cutecutecute mineralize blush in 'Giggly' - Light pink with pearly plum heart, and maybe even 'Miss Behave' - Light beige with pearly mint green heart, although the mint green scares me slightly!
A couple of the lipsticks caught my eye aswell, particularly the central pale pink, but after I'd looked it up and discovered it was their permanent colour 'Saint Germain' which I've tried before and didnt like, I was put off. I quite like the look of the first pale nude too, 'Playing Koi' (cute name!) but I'm betting its the same as a million other nudes.
As for the other items, I'm yet to be convinced that such girly pale colours would look good on such a transparently pale person such as myself!
So what do you guys think? Are you excited for this launch? What makeup products are you just loving at the moment?
